She’s the Lady of the House, Purveyor of Potent Potables and a Jazz Age Flapper Flouting Prohibition Laws. Like the flappers of the 1920s, Lucy embodies that energetic freedom and embraces a lifestyle that many would find outrageous, immoral and downright dangerous.

“I may not be every one’s cup of tea but I'm someone’s shot of fireball.”

“Take life with a pinch of salt, a shot of tequila, and a wedge of lime”

What's the story behind your stage name?

A Jazz Age Flapper Flouting Prohibition Laws.

Lucy personifies a love of liquor and the Charleston. She’s all about that light-hearted excess. In the words of Heywood Broun, "The Jazz Age was wicked and monstrous and silly. And Lucy had a great time.

In only three words, how would you define your stage persona?

 "A Boozy Floozy"

What do you share with the audience when you dance?

Lots of Tequila

What is that keeps your passion alive?

My students, The Silk Room family and the power of my body

Who inspires you the most?

Carmen Miranda, Josephine Baker, Helena Bonham-Carter and so many more.

It is hard to choose just one.

How do you prepare before getting on stage? Are there any rituals you go through?

I wish I could say I’m cool, calm and collected but I’m the opposite, I’m frantic and frazzled but also festive. I am normally running around trying to make sure everyone has everything they need and everything is ready to go. I’ll have a debrief with our stage manager and all the cast. Right before the show begins I will always pour shots of tequila for all cast backstage and we’ll toast to a successful and fun night ahead. It’s our TSR ritual.

What’s your favourite act in the shows?

The one where I pour fireball into my DIY plastic boobs and serve it through a straw to the audience. I love all our TSR solo and group routines too. I couldn’t choose just one.

How did you join the Silk Room troupe?

N/A I created The Silk Room School of Burlesque and Cabaret so I could share my love and passion for this art form with Shanghai and connect with like-minded people and we have built a beautiful family over the years.
